There has been a major update in the hunt for the former LA Sheriff who vanished from his San Marino home on Sunday night.

Authorities say that Lee Baca, 82,  has been found safe and is now recovering from the incident.

Baca, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, was reported missing around 7:30 pm on Sunday night.

A member of the former LA Sheriff’s family reported that he hadn’t been seen leaving his residence since 4:30 pm that day.

An thorough search was conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies, who were ultimately able to track Baca with the help of his medical bracelet, which identified him. 

‘An extensive search for Mr. Baca took place with the assistance from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (Missing Person’s Unit),’ the San Marino Police Department said in a statement.
