- Former Jetstar Pilot convicted of murder last month
- He killed missing camper Carolyn Clay in 2020
- He was found not guilty of killing her lover Russell Hill
Convicted killer Greg Lynn has become a loner and target in jail after refusing to form alliances with criminal networks, prison sources say.
The ex-Jetstar pilot was pelted with human faeces at the Melbourne Assessment centre earlier this month – just days after he was found guilty of murdering Carolyn Clay, 73, but not guilty of the murder of Russell Hill, 74, who both vanished while camping in Victoria in 2020.
Now, a prison source has lifted the lid on the reason for the disgusting attack and why Lynn does not mix with other prisoners behind bars.
‘Lynn does not show normal traits of a run of the mill prisoner,’ the prison source told the Herald Sun.
‘He is aloof, arrogant and entitled and the other prisoners do not like him.
‘He is not part of any criminal network which is why he is isolated and why he was attacked.’
The source said fellow prisoners also don’t like the power Lynn, 57, has over them, after he secured his prison unit’s head billets job – a coveted and lucrative role which involves running the food line and ordering other billets to do work.
The source said Lynn’s application for the job was initially knocked back but later overruled.

Another cause for envy, according to the source, is that Lynn occupies prime real estate within the prison – a corner cell with a nice view to Spencer St and no adjoining cell to the north.
The cell one of the quietest in the prison, where Lynn is currently being held as he awaits being sentenced for his crime.
Ms Clay and Mr Hill, who were having an affair, were camping in the Wonnangatta Valley, in Victoria’s Alpine region, when they vanished on March 20, 2020.
Lynn was arrested about 18 months later and led detectives to their bushland graves.
He pleaded not guilty to both murders, claiming Mr Hill stole his gun from his car during an argument and that it accidentally went off, killing Ms Clay, while the two men were wrestling to gain control of the weapon.
He claimed that Mr Hill, devastated by Ms Clay’s death, then lunged at him with a knife, and the older man was accidentally killed during the skirmish.
Lynn is next due before the Supreme Court on Friday for a pre-sentence hearing.
