A horror crash between a ute and truck on a country road which sent both vehicles careening off the road has left one driver dead.
Emergency services received reports of a two-car crash on the Mid-Western Highway in Carcoar, southwest of Bathurst in NSW, about 1:25pm on Monday.
There they found the driver of the ute towing a trailed, a man aged in his 60s, dead at the scene.
The driver of a Pantech truck towing a horse float was not injured in the crash while two passengers, a boy and a girl, received minor injuries.
The Mid-Western Highway has been closed to heavy vehicles between Mandurama and Blayney as police launch an investigation into the collision.
While light vehicles are still permitted, drivers have been urged to allow extra travel time as diversions and hazardous road conditions remain in place.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage related to the crash has been urged to contact police.
More to come.
