Simon Baker, the star from hit television series The Mentalist, has been charged with two drink driving-related offences.

The 55-year-old will appear in Mullumbimby Local Court, northern NSW, on September 4.

Charges include attempting to drive while under influence of alcohol, and driving a vehicle under influence of alcohol.

He was granted bail with no conditions. 

Baker’s portrayal of Patrick Jane in the US drama series between 2008 and 2015 earned him a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013.

He has also been nominated for a TV Week Logie Award on Sunday for his leading role in Netflix series, Boy Swallows Universe.

The actor split with his wife Rebecca Rigg in 2021 following 29 years of marriage.

They have three children and own a property together in Nashua, near Byron Bay.

Following his marriage breakdown, he briefly dated Byron Bay activewear designer Laura May Gibbs.

In March last year, he was photographed getting picked up at the airport by a mystery blonde woman who is believed to be his new girlfriend.

A month later, the pair were spotted at the beach with his two sons.
