A horror crash on a major highway has left multiple people in life threatening conditions.

Two trucks and a car collided on the Bruce Highway near Bloomsbury, between Mackay and Proserpine in Queensland, at about 3pm on Thursday.

Queensland Police confirmed the highway has been closed in both directions as emergency services rush to the crash.
