Residents have been warned by police to stay away from an upmarket suburb in Sydney due to an ongoing incident.

Police were called to a property on Figtree Road in Hunters Hill shortly before 6am on Monday for a concern for welfare check.

Police confirmed the situation is ongoing and there is no threat to the public.
