Trump was taken for medical observation at a local hospital after the shooting.

President Joe Biden sent out a statement at 7:53 p.m. saying he is ‘praying’ for former President Donald Trump and condemning ‘this kind of violence’ in the aftermath of Saturday’s shooting at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania:

I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. 

I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information.

Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it.’

Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldfinger reportedly said one person is believed to be dead and ‘possibly a second.’

He said the person believed to be dead was ‘someone in the crowd.’

Donald Trump‘s eldest son laid the blame for Saturday’s rally shooting at the feet of the radical left but promised that it would not stop his father from campaigning.

It came hours after gunshots were fired at the former president during a rally in Pennsylvania, upending what was already an extraordinary campaign season.

Investigations continue but Donald Trump Jr. suggested there was no doubt who was behind the apparent assassination attempt.

‘I just spoke to my father on the phone and he is in great spirits,’ he said.

‘He will never stop fighting to save America, no matter what the radical left throws at him.’

Donald Trump has revealed he was shot in the right ear in the horrifying assassination attempt at his Pennsylvania rally.

The former president described the moment he heard ‘whizzing’ sounds and the bullet ‘ripping through his skin’.

‘I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania,’ he wrote on Truth Social.

‘Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured.

‘It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead.

‘I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!’

Ivanka Trump thanked the Secret Service for their decisive action. She said:

Thank you for your love and prayers for my father and for the other victims of today’s senseless violence in Butler, Pennsylvania. I am grateful to the Secret Service and all the other law enforcement officers for their quick and decisive actions today. I continue to pray for our country. I love you Dad, today and always

House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., issued the following statement Saturday:

My prayers are with President Trump and the victims of the assassination attempt at today’s rally in Pennsylvania. I thank the brave Secret Service members who put their lives at risk to protect President Trump and for the American patriots in the audience who helped innocent victims.

Political violence in all forms is unamerican and unacceptable. There are many questions and Americans demand answers.

I have already contacted the Secret Service for a briefing and am also calling on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to appear for a hearing.The Oversight Committee will send a formal invitation soon.

The FBI confirms officials are at the Butler, Pennsylvania scene where former President Donald Trump endured an assassination attempt Saturday:

The spokesperson for the Secret Service said that the suspected shooter ‘fired multiple shots toward the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue’ and confirmed that both the gunman and a rally attendee are dead.

Former President Donald Trump was comparing his record on shutting down illegal immigration to President Joe Biden’s open border policies immediately before an assassination attempt at his Pennsylvania rally.

Trump said to the crowd: ‘If you really want to see something this sad take a look at what happened — ‘ he stated immediately before being cut off as eight and 10 shots rang out.

Mid-sentence, Trump grasped his right ear as blood spewed over his face and ducked down.

U.S. Secret Service agents immediately swarmed the stage in Butler, Pennsylvania, to give the former president cover. They did a rapid assessment of Trump as he was pinned down on the ground and could be heard confirming the ‘shooter is down’ before moving him.

‘Let me get my shoes,’ Trump could be heard saying as the agents propped him up.

Sir Keir Starmer, the new British prime minister, is among world leaders expressing their horror at what unfolded at the Trump rally.

He said he was appalled and that:

Political violence in any form has no place in our societies and my thoughts are with all the victims of this attack.

Dame Karen Pierce, the British ambassador to the US, said she had sent best wishes to the former president.

President Joe Biden on Saturday evening said there was no place for ‘sick’ political violence in America and said he was grateful that former President Donald Trump was safe.

He addressed the media about two hours after shots were fired at Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

‘There’s no place in America this kind of violence, it’s sick. It’s sick,’ he said.

‘It’s one of the reasons we have to unite this country.

The president said he was trying to reach Trump, who is believed to be in a hospital near the rally site.

Vice President Kamala Harris sent out a statement Saturday night saying she and second gentleman Doug Emoff are relieved that former President Donald Trump was not ‘seriously injured’ during the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, calling it a ‘senseless shooting.’

I have been briefed on the shooting at former President Trump’s event in Pennsylvania. 

Doug and I are relieved that he is not seriously injured. We are praying for him, his family, and all those who have been injured and impacted by this senseless shooting.

We are grateful to the United States Secret Service, first responders, and local authorities for their immediate action.

Violence such as this has no place in our nation. We must all condemn this abhorrent act and do our part to ensure that it does not lead to more violence.

President Joe Biden’s campaign said Saturday night that it was pulling down all campaign advertising in the wake of the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania on former President Donald Trump.

The Biden campaign is pausing all outbound communications and working to pull down our television ads as quickly as possible.’

President Barack Obama has condemned the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

Blake Marnell was in his usual brick-patterned suit and his usual position in the center of the front row on Saturday evening to hear Donald Trump speak.

It meant he was barely 10 yards from the former president when he heard what he thought were firecrackers at the back of the crowd.

His close-up eye witness account, told exclusively to DailyMail.com, reveals the terror, anger and then finally relief that coursed through the Pennsylvania crowd as a gunman tried to assassinate the 45th president of the United States and the front return to return to power next year.

‘I instinctively looked to the left,’ he said, searching for the source of the sound. ‘The next time I turned back to look at the president, he was being taken to the ground by the Secret Service agents.’

As he watched agents use their bodies to shield Trump on the ground, he could hear more gunshots targeted at the shooter.

An emergency room doctor at Trump rally reveals how he performed CPR on a member of the crowd after the shooting.

‘I heard the shots. I thought it was firecrackers begin with. Somebody over there was screaming he’s been shot he’s been shot,’ said the man who had blood splattered all over his white USA shirt. ‘So I made my way over. I said I’m an emergency department physician. Let me help you.’

‘The guy has spun around was jammed between the benches and a head shot here. There’s lots of blood and he had brain matter,’ he told CBS News.

‘So I got him together so I got people there really helpful. Certainly one of their CPR compressions as well.’

Ronald Reagan was the last president to face an assassination attempt before shots were fired at Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.

When leaving the Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C. on March 30, 1981, Reagan was shot at several times and wounded when one bullet ricocheted off a vehicle and struck him under the left armpit.

Then-President Reagan spent 12 days at George Washington University Hospital before returning to the White House.

Trump, while not currently the U.S. president, is the first to face an assassination attempt since that day in 1981.

The gunman is dead, according to law enforcement.The former president and this year’s presumed Republican presidential nominee was speaking at a rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday when several pops were heard before Trump grabbed his ear and ducked behind the podium.

The list of prohibited items is long: From fireworks and firearms to coolers and e-cigarettes. Pretty much anything that could be blown up, thrown or used as a weapon.

Those Secret Service agents rushed in and did exactly what xthey are trained to do which is to put maximum attention to the protectee.

This was supposed to be the start of Donald Trump’s big week. After allowing Joe Biden the spotlight while he faced the biggest crisis of his political life, the rally in Pennsylvania was meant to mark the unofficial start of the Republican covention when he would officially become the party nominee.

That was all turned upside down in a split second on Saturday. The crowd flinch as the sound of a gunshot echoes through the fair ground. Trump puts his right hand to his head, and more shots can be heard.

Secret Service agents race on to the stage to protect the former president with their bodies.

Another volley of bullets can be heard, before a shout of ‘Shooter down.’ Then Trump stands, face bloodied, and raises his fist in the air before being hustled away.

A Trump insider told DailyMail.com: ‘He’s OK.’

An incident occurred the evening of July 13 at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania. The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former President is safe. This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available.

Attendees at the rally reportedly said they heard Secret Service agents say ‘the shooter is down’ after swarming the stage to come to the ex-president’s side.

Prayers are coming in for former President Trump after he was seen with blood on his face following shots that rang out at a Pennsylvania rally Saturday afternoon.

Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., was standing front row at the rally along with Reps. Mike Kelly and GOP Senate candidate Dave McCormick.

Meuser said he heard between eight to 10 shots ring out, according to Fox News.

Witnesses said they heard someone shout ‘Shooter down’ as Trump was hustled from the stage by Secret Service agents.

A voley of shots could be heard during the attack.

Trump’s motorcade has left the venue. His condition was not immediately known.

Police began vacating the fairgrounds shortly after the former president left the stage.

President Joe Biden was leaving a church service in Delawae moments after the reports came in that Trump had been shot.

He said he had not yet been briefed on the shooting.

Donald Trump appeared to be shot in the ear as shots were fired at the former president at a rally in Pennsylvania.

Trump grabbed at the side of his face and blood spattered across his cheek as several popping sounds were heard.

The former president quickly pumped a fist at the crowd to show his supporters he was not severely injured, as Secret Service agents raced to the stage to race him away.
