Kate Garraway has claimed she has been the first person to congratulate Keir Starmer on becoming Prime Minister.
In a video posted on X the Good Morning Britain presenter can be seen waving at Sir Keir before he walks on stage at his seat of Holborn and St Pancras.
Clearly in an excellent mood from the direction of the polls, he can be seen chuckling at her comments and beaming back at her.
She captioned the video: ”Congratulations Prime Minister’ @GMB is the first at 2.40a.m to welcome him into his new role. Check out the smile & wave!’

The Labour leader decisively won he parliamentary seat this morning after he received 18,884 votes.
He told his constituents as he delivered his victory speech: ‘I promise this: Whether you voted for me or not, I will serve every person in this constituency.
‘The mothers I sat with who have lost children to knife crime, the pensioners who can’t get the doctors appointments they desperately need, the local businesses who have struggled so hard to keep their head above water.
‘I will speak out for you, have your back, fight your corner, every single day.’
The extent of the Labour victory became significantly more apparent after Grant Shapps lost his seat in Welwyn Hatfield by 3000 votes to Labour.
Mr Shapps said it was ‘clear tonight that Britain will have a new government in the morning’.
Earlier in the night Labour’s Heidi Alexander took ex-Cabinet minister Robert Buckland’s Swindon South seat with a 9,000 majority.

The exit poll put Sir Keir on course to complete one of the most remarkable turnarounds in British political history forecasting a huge Labour victory that will sweep him into Downing Street with a majority of 170.
The Tories however are expected to be slashed from the 365 secured less than five years ago to just 131 – their worst performance in modern political history.
Shapps is not expected to be the only political heavyweight to lose his seat, others at risk include Jeremy Hunt and Penny Mordaunt.
Welsh Secretary David Davies has already conceded defeat and the Lib Dems claim they have defeated Education Secretary Gillian Keegan in Chichester.
Party chair Richard Holden is in a desperate struggle for Basildon & Billericay, with a recount and claims there are only 20 votes in it.
Mr Sunak is expected to announce he is quitting as leader in the morning, although he would stay on until a replacement is chosen.
